The Secondary font option, which is a feature unique to Mellel, allows you to have different settings for different languages, and match the font, font face and size. This option is extremely useful if you need to switch between languages, and have the best font and size settings with each one.
Mellel offers the unique option of setting up to 8 style variations with every character style. This option allows you to set "pairs" of languages with every variation, thus allowing you to work with up to 16 languages per style.
When the font you use does not contain a character you want to enter, Mellel properly addresses the problem by either transparently substituting the font or, if you want to have tight typographic control, substituting the font and notifying you about the substitution. A preferences option Mellel offers allows you to choose whether text using a substitution font will be highlighted (so you can replace it, if you want) or not (the no-hassle route).
